Hello! My name is Sylvie and I am a femme, gender-fluid lesbian and I moved to MA a few years back from the Midwest to find my community.  Food has been complicated for me, however I have found that ancestral dishes have helped me connect with my spirituality as a Celtic pagan over the last few years, and bring together those in my life now. This past year I hosted a celebration for every sabbat within the wheel of the year. This brought together my trans and queer chosen family, and whether they practiced or not, we ate, drank, and were merrier than ever. Reshaping food as a connection rather than a chore has built up my support systems in ways I could never imagine. I’d be creating a painting to showcase these themes, and embrace the deep intertwining of my spirituality and community through food.
