Despite growing up in landlocked Idaho, visiting the ocean has always felt like coming home. In my childhood it was trips to Northern California and the Oregon Coast. As I've lived in New England for the last 6 years I have had the chance to explore and fall in love with the coast of Maine. I have been able to explore the Cape, and I have been charmed by the experience of living in an area much more influenced by the sea. 

Recently, I have been considering the fact that most of us will never venture much further than the shore. We spend time on beaches, swim in the shallow water, and perhaps take an occasional venture into a boat, but few of us will ever venture into the oceans depths. This exhibit explores these areas, just on the edge of the sea and the bits of the oceans mysteries that are within our reach.
